The theme for the first edition

Every great story starts somewhere.

Ogun's began with the founders, farmers, weavers and warriors who built communities from forest and rock. Today it is an industrial gateway and a home of learning, enterprise and creative talent. Genesis to Excellence is the line between those two points.

Two days, one journey

More than an awards night

GEGA brings the whole state together over one weekend: a day of culture, commerce and ideas open to everyone, followed by the red-carpet ceremony that honours the people carrying Ogun forward.

Day 1

GEGA Open Day

A festival day of market stalls, Ogun food, fashion and craft, masterclasses and conversations, and an outdoor Variety Show. As night falls, the nominees gather for Igbaani, a formal dinner dressed in Asoke, Oleku, Adire and Alaari.

Day 2

The Mega Night

The awards ceremony itself. A red-carpet evening where 30 honours are presented, chosen through public voting and an independent jury, and streamed live to Nigeria and the world. The dress code is Tradofuturistic.
